Marshall Expectations.jpg

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with a mix of sadness and excitement that I write to inform you of my decision to move on as principal of Marshall Elementary School at the end of this school year. I have been offered a wonderful opportunity to lead another school in the district.

I don’t have to tell you that Marshall Elementary is a unique and very special place, nurtured by an extraordinarily talented staff and the most supportive parents. My four years as principal has represented a high point for me personally and professionally. We have achieved great accomplishments since I have been principal, including; meeting our English learner goals, implementing a STEM program, laying the foundations for both the eS2S and Anchored 4 Life programs to support our military families, surviving several facility projects, and improving performance data for all students.

It has been my pleasure to serve you and the students of Marshall Elementary, and though goodbyes are always difficult, I leave with the confidence that this school will remain in good hands and continue to achieve academic excellence. Our district plans to seek input from the community to ensure the next principal has the desired leadership traits to build on our successes and continue our upward academic trajectory, and I will be available to ensure a smooth transition for my successor.

A search for the new principal will be underway shortly. The district will host a community engagement meeting on Tuesday, April 17 at 5:30pm in the library at Marshall Elementary. The district will seek input on the desired leadership traits stakeholders seek in a new principal. We hope you will participate in this process.

If you are unable to attend in person, we encourage you to complete a survey,, expressing your desires. This survey may also be found on the Marshall Elementary website.

In the meantime, we still have several months to go before wrapping up another tremendous school year, and there are many exciting events and activities planned. As always, I thank you for your support.

Should you have questions, please feel free to contact me or our Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, Cresta McIntosh at 645-1217.
